Quiet village located at the nothern boundary of the Venetian lagoon, Jesolo displays an extremely developed coast line with modern and well equipped beaches and with its many shopping plazas lined up along the coast from east to west.
The Promenade along via Bafile and the other roads of the town centre is in fact one of the highlights. Continue through piazza Drago, whose name comes from the dragon, is depicted in the emblem of the Town Hall. It was designed after World War 2 to better manage the incoming car traffic, onto piazza Trieste. The parish church of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice is decorated with the large frescos-icons of the Last Judgement and of the Last Supper by Aurel Jonescu.
Piazza Brescia is a lovely round fountain. Piazza Aurora was transformed into an elegant amphitheatre in 1984. Whitin Piazza Trento is the church of the Sacro Cuore. The central piazza Mazzini was the hot-bed for the social lives of the middle class families living in this eastern part of the coast and up to the 1960's and is nowadays a cosmopolitans center.
